My husband and I were traveling back home it was 4:23 pm and there was a nasty snow storm coming in and this snowy owl caught our attention on the fence post. It was cold and windy and you could just see it bracing for what was coming. It wasn't too concerned about trying to fly away and we managed to get a few shots and enjoy it's beauty.Lighting
The lighting is obviously all natural, overcast late in the afternoon.Equipment
It was taken with a Canon 60D, at 200mm, F5.6, 1/200 and ISO of 500, shot free hand from the vehicle window.Inspiration
We love wildlife, and what better to get you instantly inspired than the beauty of an owl and a snow storm to show the beauty of nature.Editing
There is very minimal post-processing. Just a little contrast and sharpening. In my camera bag
I usually always have my 60D with a 500mm sigma, and my EOS 5D Mark 3 with a 17-40 1.4, a 50mm 1.8, a 24-70 1.4, and a 100 MacroFeedback
My advice to anyone trying to capture wildlife is to be patient and take the time to get out and enjoy nature. Timing is everything with wildlife and a little luck also helps.
