Location
This image was taken in the "Isle of the Sky' region of Canyonlands National Park about 25 miles from Moab, Utah.Time
Approximately 9:00 a.m.Lighting
The view from this location was breathtaking, and I loved the gnarly old tree in the foreground. The morning light was very nice at the moment of this shot. Earlier, it was very overcast and sprinkling rain. By the time we got to this location, the rain had stopped and we could see sunshine through the broken clouds.Equipment
Nikon D4, Nikon 24-120mm lens and tripod, no flash.Inspiration
The picturesque beauty of Canyonlands N. P. is amazing. This spot was my favorite discovery, second only to the sunrise photos at Mesa Arch.Editing
Minimal post processing - added some minor detail and that's all I did to this photo. In my camera bag
Nikon camera and lenses, tripod, filters, extra batteries, flash attachment, and lens cleaning wipes.Feedback
The best advice when visiting Canyonlands National Park in Utah is to get there early. Before sunrise is best. The morning light in all of the regions of the park is the best and quite spectacular.
