Behind The Lens

Location

I took this image at my neighbour's house, in the henhouse. i was asked to come over and see the new hatchlings.

Time

It was later in the afternoon when I captured this shot.

Lighting

It was late afternoon, I didn't use a flash, I just had to make sure I had my ISO up.

Equipment

I used my SonyA99, without a flash.

Inspiration

Blue, the neighbour's dog, followed us into the henhouse, I was most nervous of him around the new chicks, but my neighbour re-assured me that he was gentle around them. In my mind, all I could see was that little chicken becoming his dinner, he was most infatuated by this one in particular! Hence the title "Chicken Licken!"

Editing

Yes, post processing included curves, some darkening and sharpening. The shot was sharp to start with.

In my camera bag

These days, I only carry my Sony a99 with my Tamron 28-300 permanently attached, the Sony macro 100, and an ND8 grad filter. I went overseas with just the camera body and Tamron lens, for 3 1/2 months, was most impressed with not having to change lenses!

Feedback

Sometimes you just need to be there to capture the moment, I always carry my camera, looking for any picture perfect moment!
