Location
This photo was taken from a tree in my yard. I was leaving to run an errand and happened to notice the Cicada. It was peacefully enjoying the sun. I had my camera in my purse. I walked over to it and got as close as I could to it. The camera that I used did not have an adequate zoom lens.Time
The time of the day I am guessing was late morning or early afternoon.Lighting
The lighting was all natural. I did not edit anything. It was an original shot.Equipment
I only had my camera. I think it was a Kodak EasyShare camera. At that time, it was the only option I had for a camera. I had the camera in my purse. I try and take my camera with me everywhere.Inspiration
I think I inspire myself. I try and see most things as a learning opportunity. Not all of my photos will be perfect, but I will have the memory of that particular day. When planning an outing in great weather (usually parks) I think of the best places that I have been to, and want to go to those same places, hoping to capture similar pictures. Missouri weather has begun to change. It was about 30 degrees early in the morning, but now it is about 50 degrees.Editing
No post-processingIn my camera bag
I have a very small bag with the Canon EOS Rebel camera, an extra battery, an extra SD card. I am hoping to have a better quality lens to improve my macro photos.Feedback
When given the opportunity to take a photo, do it. Practice, practice, practice. I myself am still learning about lighting and setting. Those are my weak areas. Please keep in mind that this Cannon Rebel is my first real camera. Back in the 80s I had a rectangular camera. I think it was a Kodak with an actual film that had to be taken to a photo store to get developed. I also had some of the disposable cameras too. Unfortunately, developing film was expensive, and a lot of pictures were not good.
