Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo lying sprawled across the floor of my sister dark bedroom.

Time

Well it was in winter, shortly after Christmas, and already late enough to be dark outside.

Lighting

I placed a light chain with those big balls behind the miniature swing. Thats all there was to lighting.

Equipment

I used my sweet, but now dead, Sony a58 for this one. As for the lens, I used the very old RICOH 50/f2 that i found that day in my fathers basement. It didn't fit the A-mount, of course, so i focused by just holding it in front of the mount with the aperture wide open. By holding it slightly tilted, I got that funny tilted plane of Focus effect.

Inspiration

Actually I was just bored of the insanely bad weather at that time and i wanted to make use of the lens. So I asked my sister for advice (she is the creative one) and she mentioned that sweet mini-swing.

Editing

I made the colors more vibrant and added that watermark in the negative space. That's all.

In my camera bag

Now, a Sony a77, a Sigma 24 f2.8, a Minolta 50 f1.4 and a Walimex Pro 85 f1.4

Feedback

Ger yourself an outdated vintage lens and play with the tilted plane of Focus. ;)
