Behind The Lens
Location
I took this shot at Wat Suan Dok temple, in Chiang Mai, Thailand. I live just behind the temple and am always looking for a different shot at a different time of day to bring out the beauty of the buildingsTime
I shot this at around 7.30 pm, about an hour after sunset. I suffered for my picture as I was bitten by the mosquitoes who come out at dusk.Lighting
I avoided direct light from the spotlightsEquipment
Nikon D7100, 18-105mm lens ( 18mm, F11, 30 seconds ) tripod and shutter release cableInspiration
After recently taking a course in night photography I am always looking for places to practice my newly acquired techniques. The temple is ideal for this as it is within 2 minutes walk of my house and has numerous buildings and shrines which are illuminated after the sun sets.Editing
I cropped the image to get a better compositon. In my camera bag
I try to travel light, but always fail to do so. I am used to carrying my gear and reckon its worth the effort taking that extra lens. Nikon D7100, 35mm 1.8, 70-200mm 2.8, travel tripod.Feedback
There are plenty of tutorials online, giving all you need to know about night photography. It is not that complicated and certainly worth trying. You will be surprised at the results.
