After a day and night in the lush hills of the central Sri Lankan tea country, it was a pleasant surprise when we got up at 5am to head out for a Safari on the Southern coast at Yala National Park and discovered the landscape had changed to light forests, scrubs, grasslands,and lagoons. Our search for wildlife began after sunrise, but I snapped this one on the way, with a water buffalo silhouetted, with reflection - in the midst of this stunning setting we found ourselves in.
