Living in Beijing and having visitors from time to time means that you inevitably get to see the Great Wall of China quite a bit. But mostly you make a day of it and tend to miss out on the best times of the day to witness the wall and surrounding views in all their splendour. I always thought I had to do this sometime, knowing that it'd be at the least 'very COOL' and great for photography. Well I had the chance the other day with an overnight hike and camp on the wall with tour group Beijing Hikers and good friend Marianne. And it didn't disappoint. Words don't do it justice - you just have to soak it in, and hope that capturing it on camera somehow evokes the feeling I had being there atop the Wall in the cold morning breeze as the day broke.
