At 250 Castine Rd. (Rt.166) exists a small vineyard, which provides the perfect vista of an open rural coastal Maine landscape and the hilly terrain of the peninsula of Castine. The isolated small tree sitting on the ridge of the field is just above the Bugaduce River and Hatch Cove. Within the trees of the distant Southerly direction lies the small town of Castine, which is also home of Maine Maritime Academy. The peninsula is historically infamous for its role in the Revolutionary War and the site of the 18th c. Fort George.
