I was there last year, huge waves. Good capture with a bird providing scale

Behind The Lens

Location

At Navarro Beach at HWY 1 and 128 in Mendocino County, California

Time

I go to this spot regularly mid-afternoon and this was not an average day. The waves were unusually high and the sea turbulent....probably 2:30pm

Lighting

Bright day, fog in the backround illuminated and diffused made for perfect conditions.

Equipment

I think it was shot with my Nikon D5600 18-55mm, which sadly burned up in my RV fire

Inspiration

The majesty of the waves crashing on rocks compelled me...it was a day of many of these....

Editing

I only darkened it a bit to bring out and define the white wash of the wave

In my camera bag

I now have Nikon D7200 with an 18-55mm and a 70-300mm...and a GoPro, Tripod and chargers.

Feedback

Snap more than you think...I'm always surprised
