Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at a private party during the Country Music Seminar in Nashville in February 2016. Big Machine Label Group threw the party and I had the chance to get really close. It was at the aVenue in Nashville, TN.

Time

This was shot 2\9\2016 at 1:10am... Long night, but worth it.

Lighting

As you can see the stage lighting was great. I had to deal with the back lighting a bit, but otherwise I was really pleased with the stage lighting.

Equipment

I was shooting two camera's, both Nikon. D80 with a Sigma 24-70mm 2.8, and a D3300 with a Sigma 70-200mm 2.8 This shot was with the D3300 f/2.8 - 1\320 sec - ISO 6400 at 78mm.

Inspiration

I'm 100% amateur that lives in the best music town in the country. I love shooting live bands. I just happen to be at the right place (party) at the right time and have my cameras with me.

Editing

As an amateur I use Lightroom and mostly use presets for post-processing. Once I find a preset that is close, I'll go in and play with things until I get what I want.

In my camera bag

The only thing other than what's listed above that I carry is my Nikon SB600 that I simply don't use very often at all.

Feedback

Be in the right place at the right time. Get to know your camera. These were all shot in manual... It's taken me a while to learn, but every time I go out shooting, I get better and better shots.
