Everything looks clean and delicate on a day like this. When the temperature falls below freezing point, it's hard to get up from the couch and get outdoors, but who can miss a lovely sight like this? I didn't have my skies on, so I had to wade in the deep snow to get to this spot. I wasn't the first one. I could see deep footprints in the snow before me. I'm sure I wasn't the only photographer to capture this amazing winter day! But this image is mine, the way I saw it with the cold bench that nobody would sit on as it was covered with ice. I considered sitting down for a moment, but I got too busy with my shooting. Every straw, every line in the snow and every ice formation called for my attention. I didn't realize that my feet were cold and my fingers numb, before I was back inside. Only then was my attention back to normal.

I try to carry as little as possible, especially when I'm shooting in my neighborhood. Too much gear takes the attention away from the result.Feedback
When it comes to shooting landscapes and nature in general, the best advice is to get up and get out there! Experiment a lot, but don't feel embarassed if you're tempted to switch to auto mode on your camera. Most cameras today are great at the technical stuff, so you can focus on composition and the creative thinking.
