Behind The Lens

Location

This is a studio shot taken at home in my studio.

Time

This shot was taken at daytime. I believe the morning coffee got cold that day!

Lighting

I wanted it to be a low key photo because this was a technique I didn't fully master. I had seen so many cool photos online and wanted to learn how to do it myself. I experimented with one or two studio lamps.

Equipment

The camera is a Nikon D700.

Inspiration

First of all, yellow is my favorite color, and this cup belongs to a set consisting of 6 cups and saucer in 6 different colors. I have taken multiple photos of cups from this set, all in different settings with different props to compliment the colors. To match the yellow cup I picked yellow and orange colors from my garden.

Editing

No post processing was necessary as far as I can remember.

In my camera bag

I normally don't carry a lot of gear unless I travel far. When visiting nearby places I try to keep it at a minimum. Having only one lens makes it easier to focus on the result instead of the equipment.

Feedback

Keep it simple, and enjoy the work!
