Location
Morning Glories are one of my favorite flowers and I planted several in my yard. During an early morning walkthrough one morning I saw this beauty covered in dew.Time
I took this in early morning light, it was a close up, no cropping or enhancing. This Morning Glory was growing alongside my shed in the back of our house, the sun was just peaking over the trees, but there was no direct light on it.Lighting
Lighting is a matter of taste, or at least I like to think it is. Early morning and last light are my favorites because they have a glow to them, they feel softer.Equipment
At the time I was using a Canon 5d, I cannot remember the lens I was using and for the most part, I find tripods cumbersome in nature shots because lighting is quick and different angles produce much different results.Inspiration
The beauty of the flower in the morning light with the dew on it and the hint of purple/pink in some areas, it was just so eye catching and tranquil. I remember it was late in summer, the days were waning and I was hesitant about the seasons changing, maybe because of aging or just not looking forward to being outside during the long New England winters. Never the less, it is one of my favorite photographs and it always brings me back to that feeling that morning of simple elegant beauty.Editing
No, I've only recently got into post-processing and it's a very big learning process. In my camera bag
I carry a Nikon D500 with several lenses, a flash and always extra batteries!Feedback
Just go for what excites you, what captures your eye and makes you feel something inside. Don't be afraid of angles or lighting because you want people to be inspired by beauty as how you see it.
