Location
This photo was taken in the countryside of Belvidere, Illinois.Time
This was taken just before sunset. Probably around 5 P.M. I remember it was right before winter hit in November 2015. It was extremely windy and cold as well.Lighting
No most was created in post processing.Equipment
This was shot on a Canon T5i with a Canon 40mm pancake lens. No other equipment used.Inspiration
I had just moved to Illinois that week from Florida. My husband was driving the family around and showing us the sights. Its mostly cornfields around here. A huge difference from the sandy beaches I grew up with. So naturally, I had my camera on me and ready to go.Editing
A TON of dodging and burning. Added some dark brown and red colors to the ground and hay bale in the front. Haze was added to the horizon line. The sky is an overlay that I tweaked because the actual sky that day was kind of muddy and grey looking and was not the "Harvest Time" look I imagined when I took the photo. In my camera bag
I always have my 40mm and 24mm pancake lenses and my external flash. I have naturally shaky hands (runs in the family) so the light weight of the pancake lens helps out.Feedback
Just because its not there doesn't mean it can't be created. It is rare that you will get that perfect combination of weather and lighting.
