Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo in the woods of Montana. The deer was walking sassily along the path, with nothing to fear.

Time

I took this around 11:00 in the morning, before the sun was at its peak.

Lighting

The harsh morning light is usually too much for my camera, but the overhanging tree branches provided a welcome shade.

Equipment

I used a small, zoomed camera without flash.

Inspiration

I was looking for wildlife, when I saw the deer in the path. I quickly raised my camera and fired off a few photos. I thought she looked so soft and pretty, with her white tail and brown eyes. She was interested in me as well.

Editing

I did absolutely no processing.

In my camera bag

I normally have my camera and a spare battery. It's all I need for photos like this.

Feedback

Walk quietly, and keep your camera on. Be ready to take a photo at a moments notice, as wildlife is, well, wild.
