I took this photo at a rocky beach in Glacier National Park, Montana.Time
This was taken after a 6 mile hike. I was already tired and didn't want to walk the extra mile to get to this small beach, but I'm glad that I did. It was taken in May of 2015, at around 1:00 or 2:00 in the afternoon.Lighting
Afternoon lighting is by far my favorite type. I love how it makes everything look warm and full. Almost all of my photos were taken in the afternoon to get that special glow.Equipment
I used a Canon Power Shot SX230 HS, with Full HD and 14x Optical Zoom.Inspiration
I saw a log down in the water and thought it looked cool. I tried taking some photos of it from the top, but they all looked dull. So I decided to try getting down on the ground by it and taking a photo that way. It turned out better that I expected!Editing
No processing here! I took the photo the way I saw it, and that's how I like it.In my camera bag
Honestly, just my camera. It's a small, unprofessional little thing but it takes such lovely photos.Feedback
Get on the ground! The best and most unique photos are taken from an angle that nobody else sees. When you take photos at ground level, you show something basic-like this log-as looking new and unusual. Take a lot of photos from different angles, and sort through them when you get home. There's no such thing as too many photos.
