Civita di Bagnoregio, "the town that is dying", is a Ghost Town built on a volcanic tuff cliff. Of course at the time they didn't need the bridge, because the village was directly connected to land. But over the centuries the erosion has transformed the landscape and the town was slowly abandoned by people that built another town just near. Now they are worried about the situation: infact the erosion still go on.

Gorgeous! You caught this one at the perfect time. The natural highlight draws focus directly to the top to the city. Thank you also for the back story. It helps to appreciate the place more knowing a little of it's history.
