Spronking black-faced impala. This buck was part of a group that was walking past our car towards a waterhole when something spooked it.
It was pure chance that I got this shot. I usually shoot in single shot mode and had pressed the shutter release before he jumped; it was only when the mirror dropped back down again that I saw that he was in mid-air.
According to Wikipedia, black-faced impala came close to extinction, and 310 individuals were introduced to Etosha National Park between 1968 - 1971. They appear to be quite numerous in the park now. We also saw a herd in the nearby Etendeka Concession.
