A portrait of a grey heron hunting after sunset. Taken from the Lagoon Hide, Zimanga Private Game Reserve, KwaZulu Natal, South Africa. I was taking various waterbirds around the lagoon when, late in the day, this guy arrived. There was hardly any light left but I couldn't resist grabbing this shot as he walked into the light of evening the sky shining through some trees, providing a natural vignette.
