On the island of Janitzio near the old city of Patzcuaro, Mexico. We were fortunate enough to witness a very old special ceremony that's a mix of religious and indigenous traditions which is celebrated during Dia de los Muertos. This was a parade that we encountered on our hike up the road. The youth would then run around the island, up and down steep stairs and even on top of buildings, terrorizing people and scaring away evil spirits. It was an exciting experience. I'd like to go back someday.
