February 21 is the international Mother Language day. About 189 countries in the world celebrate the day every year in honor of their respective mother tongue. The students of Dhaka University are painting on the wall as a mark of honor and remembrance of the heroic sacrifice of the language martyrs of 1952. On 21 February the Police fired upon the protesting students of Dhaka University Bangladesh after being imposed to speak Urdu as the only state language of Pakistan. UNESCO declared this day as the International Mother Language day in 1999.
