Istema, the second largest gathering of the Muslims, on the bank of river Turag, Tongi, Dhaka, takes place every year. Thousands of people arrive from home and abroad on this occasion. Religious minded people from different countries of Asia, Europe, Africa, and America gather here on a three-day long prayer program here. The main attraction is Munajat, (the last prayer). For Munajat people wait long on the roads, on the roofs of houses, on the bus even on the roof of the train. There is a hurry to return home after the last prayer and at the same time, the fear of scarcity of vehicles drives them both way. So before the departure, people occupy the smallest roam to sit on.
