adore the old stations, glad this one is still around! Lewisburg is my "old stomping ground" too. My parents were from Mt Union, outside of Huntingdon. Oribisonia is a neat area to roam around in too.

Location
I took this photo while doing a walk around Lewisburg, PA, looking for interesting buildings to shoot. I had grown up outside of this town and it has a lot of history as a river town. This old railroad station converted into the Borough building caught my eye.Time
I took this picture around noon on a cold overcast late winter day. I didn't bring my tripod, so I ended up free-holding my camera to get the shot that I liked.Lighting
As far as lighting was concerned, I thought that there as enough natural light to really make the building stand out. Especially with the overcast clouds.Equipment
I shot this picture with a Sony A6000, using the 16 - 50mm kit lens, f/8 and no flash. I also did not use a tripod.Inspiration
What inspired me to take this photo? Well, a couple of things, actually! I had just become hooked on HDR photography after viewing some of Trey Ratcliff's photography work and videos. I also have an interest in old buildings, especially the fine architecture. With all that in mind, during my stroll around town, I spotted this interesting railroad station and I just had to get a shot!Editing
I did do a little post-processing as I do in all my work. When I take a photo, I take 3 exposures then merge them together into one photo with Photomatix. Then I import the photo into Lightroom, tweak the colors, adjust the clarity and sharpen the image a bit. Once I'm satisfied, then I like to add a little vignette around the photo and I'm done!In my camera bag
I always keep in my bag my A6000 with the kit 16 - 50mm lens attached since I mainly do landscape-style photography. I also keep a Sony E-mount 55 - 210mm lens, a couple of spare batteries with charger and a wireless trigger. Anytime I leave the house, the bag comes with me!Feedback
My advice, and I'm by no means a professional, is if you want to try your hand in HDR photography find something that interests you and take the shots! Like I said earlier, I'm interested in buildings so that's what I like to concentrate on. In HDR photography, bracketing is your friend! Try taking a -2, 0 and +2 on your bracketed shots. That's always worked for me. If you can use a tripod, do so although there will be times you won't. Also, Photomatix is very handy for merging the photos together. Once you bring your merged photo into Lightroom, don't be afraid to play with the sliders to get the look you want! Experiment and have fun!
