Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken by the visitors center of Hoffman Park in Sacramento.

Time

We took this photo a little bit after the blue hour.

Lighting

We didn't use any lighting except for what was already there.

Equipment

The only equipment that I brought with me was my camera. Nikon D90 with a 50mm lens.

Inspiration

I was inspired by the mask and model to take this photo in such a way. I've always saw jesters as silly and fun, but never sad. Therefore I felt like it would tell a story that sometimes we fall, even those who wear masks.

Editing

During post-processing, I changed this photo into black and white. I light it up and added in some noise to make this photo look a bit vintage.

In my camera bag

I always carry my main camera, NIKON D7100, 50mm lens, 30mm lens and a flash with me.

Feedback

My advice is to not be afraid to always try new things and something different. Be you. Be creative. Be brave.
