The concept was to portray the simplicity of the Hmong heritage through her. Hmong people are a group of people in the hills who joined allies with the U.S. government to defeat the Laos and Vietnamese. The U.S. lost and the Hmong had to flee their homes to survive. Many were murdered other died traveling with barely any food or crossing the Mekong river to the refugee camp in Thai Land. This was a secret the U.S. has kept hidden for a while.
