Sometimes you happen to be at the right place at the right time. This was definitely the case during the morning light at Mill Creek in Southern Oregon. I'm currently working on an outdoor adventure video thats taking our main character around various locations in Southern Oregon. Our production began with trail running around Mill Creek at sunrise. We shot our way down the trail till we ended up at the bottom by the creek. We were in awe of the light when we came to this view. Since we were on a tight timeline, we had to get a few shots in the can right away. After about 15 minutes I stopped and said, "Hold on, this is just too good. I have to snap some stills of this." My actor replied with, “Yes, me too!" It was so great that we could both appreciate the spectacular view and put work on hold for a brief moment.

This image is a blend of three exposures. One for the foreground and creek, another for the trees and light rays in the background, and the last for the sky. Blending the three went surprisingly fast. Shooting RAW saved me again pulling out all of the information in the shadows and getting the sky back to blue. I adjusted the contrast and color balance between the three exposure to give it a nice warm feel.
