Behind The Lens

Location

I took it in Bhabha Valley, Kinnaur in India. Himachal Pradesh is hilly state in north of India.

Time

We were hiking on the day 3 of trek, it rained after an August showery morning. And then it shone bright in the middle of day and we were in all sweat. And in the afternoon we met him and I clicked him.

Lighting

As landscapes were lush green around after rain. And we were resting around a gorge after hike, where this lad came.

Equipment

Canon 550D with 18-55mm lens with no additional tripod support.

Inspiration

This man was in his late 60s, he had been traveling with his sheep herd in high altitude pastures, often crossing various passes. Due to altitude sickness he had to descent, near gorge after inquiry, we came to know about his condition and we gave him pills we were carrying that's when I clicked it.

Editing

Yes I did, I clicked picture in monochrome only. But I really wanted his character to come out so I added a little contrast and structure after cropping.

In my camera bag

Camera, additional lenses, tripod, remote, micro-fiber to clean lens and Joby Gorillapod.

Feedback

Try not to ask a person to pose, rather, steal the moment, you will get the best shot when they are not aware of your clicking.
