While working as a banding intern for the Klamath Bird Observatory during the fall of 2012, I spent many Saturday afternoons canoeing around Klamath Lake photographing birds. During this time of year the lake was full of many water bird species, including American White Pelicans. Photographing in a canoe allowed me to get very close to these incredible birds, every once and a while capturing their moment of take off.
