The bridge, one of only a handful of it's type in the world, was built to carry workers to the thriving shipyards and dock of the River Tees. It has recently been renovated , it's surroundings, Victorian redbrick factories and warehouses have been reduced to rubble. I took this chance to photograph history being destroyed. Today the bridge is surrounded by car parking, sapling trees and patches of grass, it looks wrong, it looks lonely. I am so glad I visited in time to catch a last image of the redbricks especially as they echoed the shape of the bridge.
