One of natures most facinating insects

Having a 'blue' coat Sky is often a subject for my pet portraits, she is much easier to expose for than her companion who is black and white

Our local photographic club held a still life night using domestic lights, torches, candles.... it was an interesting exercise.

A low early morning sun casts the bee's shadow on the petals of the poppy as it 'lifts off' backwards after collecting pollen.

No longer found wild local authorities are sowing 'wild flower' seeds on roadside and re introducing the cornflower to the countryside.

Crude stage lighting and a black curtain at the local village hall made for harsh shadow and difficult exposure so I used spot metering on the face

These flowers grow neglected in a local orchard I used a low viewpoint to get the trees and sky to form a complimentary background
