This is really a masterpiece, and good choice on entering the White-out contest.

Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at Sweet Gum Bottom Bed and Breakfast in Andalusia, AL. I'm a self taught photographer and this was my first attempt at bridal portraits.

Time

It was around 9am, we'd driven over an hour to the location, it was maybe 50 degrees and cloudy. It was pretty cold! My poor bride was so cold but rocked it so hard and was a trooper!

Lighting

I'd seen others take shots of a bride in a doorway. This shot was intentional in posing and set up but the dramatic editing happened because I just felt it needed the drama. I love a dramatic black and white photo!

Equipment

Nikon D3100, 50mm I believe. Its been a while. :)

Inspiration

I needed to start a wedding portfolio, and I knew I could use this location. 1+1=2 :)

Editing

yes, heavy contrast once turned black and white.

In my camera bag

Nikon D610, 50mm, 85mm, 24-70mm, macro. 2 flashes

Feedback

Try try try, and try again! :) Every shot will teach you something, every session is different. Keep learning!
