I took this photo at St Kilda beach whilst travelling through Australia. It's a stunning beach with the most amazing sunsets I've ever seen - watching the sun sink into the seaTime
It was around dusk - I had always planned to spend the whole dusk period at the beach as I wanted to capture the amazing sunsets. As a massive lover of silhouettes and leading lines, I saw the opportunity to get the people on the pier in a lovely silhouette against the amazing sunset. The sea was alaso so clam, justa gentle ripple relly, so the reflections on the sea from the dying daylight and the pier lights were perfect.Lighting
I just wanted a really sharp silhouette against the deep orange sunset - the pier added a great leading line, and the few people that were on the pier just added that elemnt of interest - people out enjoying the a quiet evening stroll, watching the sun go down, chilled.Equipment
I used a Canon 60D, hand held, with the EFS 17-55mm F2.8 lens - which has always been an amazing lens for making colours pop.Inspiration
I had seen the sunsets on a previous evenings stroll, without my camera, so desperately wanted to go back and spend the evening at the beach capturing the sunset, the people who were out and about, and just the general chilled evening vibe in St Kilda. This is from a larger set of around 30 shots I took.Editing
