First of all, sorry for my bad english it's not my mother language. The shot i take in Iceland - it's the montain Kirkjufell. But form his not so famous side.Time
June 2015, 17 in the afternoon 4 or 5 pm.Lighting
The big softbox - the sun - was behind me. But it was a bit cloudy so i get no harsh light.Equipment
I use my tripod - Gitzo, my Nikon D4 and the Nikkor AF-S 14-24mm /f2.8 - no filters.Inspiration
It was a pure chance. We shot befor the famous Kirkjufell from the east side and drive in west direction. After we pass the montain i look back and saw the incredible light. So we stop and take some pictures. It's worth to stop.Editing
Honestly yes. The ND filter look was completly post. I blur the sky and the water. A bit levels and curves, that's all.In my camera bag
I shot with Nikon gear. But my opinion, the gear is not so important, i can take the same shot with Canon, Pentax, Sony, Hasselblad, Leica and so on. The most times i write in gear list: brain and glas. The shot happens in my brain, you need a vision, not expensive gear. Ok, when i shoot portraits or weddings i love my prime - the 85mm f/1.4. But i make the same expierience like many others. In the begining you think with expensive gear you make better shot's. Big fail! Learn to use your eyes, train your brain, develope visions and read the light, the most important part of photography, for me.Feedback
Travel the right places and be influenced by the creation. Have passion and patience and often have luck. The most time, thinks happens, you can't plan it. Be observantly and learn to interpret the potential from the image in post.
