Location
I took this photo in the hotel walkway to the beach in Alanya on the Turkish riviera.Time
It was about midday but as the tunnel went under a six lane highway it was quite long and dark.Lighting
The lighting was amazing. This is one of several photos I took as it continually changed colour. The effect was to make it seem cooler or hotter - a real mood changer.Equipment
I am a total amateur but have a steady hand so I just handheld my Samsung NX30 with the basic 18-55mm lens. I didn't use a flash as the lumens off the camera is high and I wanted the eerie effect. I particularly waited for people to be at the end of the tunnel as it seemed an empty shot otherwise but as I didn't know them I wanted the silhouette effect.Inspiration
We had been on a tour of Turkish Cyprus and Turkey and after the initial wonderful sight-seeing we were subjected to the compulsory "guns in your back" buy a carpet, jewellry, leather jacket which had been very stressful. This photo represents how I felt after the shopping tours - a light at the end of the tunnel so to speak!Editing
I just cropped the photo. I rarely do anything else. I prefer authenticity. In my camera bag
I usually have my zoom lens 55-80mm, a spare SD card and battery with me.Feedback
Pick a time of day when it isn't busy as I think the positioning of (or the lack of) the people is important in a shot like this.
