Location
My daughters and I love to fish. When we do, I always bring my camera along to snap photos of them, and the nature surrounding the water we are fishing in. That particular trip was to a friends pond. This particular pond always has beautiful dragonflies flying around, and dragonflies have always been a favorite of mine. I aquired quite the collection that day.Time
We were fishing for most of the afternoon. I followed this beautiful little guy for a while, it happened to settle down close enough in the shade area around the pond. Thank goodness, I would have hated it if this shot would have been too blown out.Lighting
Natural light bouncing off the pond created beautiful bokeh in this shot.Equipment
I am a self taught Photographer that learned most of what i know during the 12 years I was a stay at home mom. Unfortunately when your budget is tight, camera equipment is on the bottom of the list of things to buy. I used my Nikon point and shoot when i took this shot, proof that your equipment isnt what takes the photo in every scenario, it's the eye of the photographer.Inspiration
I have always loved dragonflies. They are beautiful insects. Their eyes and wings are amazing up close. The colors are always gorgeous.Editing

Nowadays, i always have my Nikon D3300 with my AF-P DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR. And my Tamron AF70-300mm F/4-5.6 Di LD Macro Nikon SLR Macro Lens. I also have my speedlight just incase. I recommend having several charged batteries for your camera and any off camera flashes you may be using. Running out of juice when your getting some amazing shots, is the worst.Feedback
Patience. If you want to snap any kind of insect, you may have to wait until they are ready for their close up. Also, a tripod is a good idea to minimize camera shake.
