This picture is actually is taken in my front garden around Christmas time.Time
It's quite early in the morning we wanted to try something new so this was one of the first shoots of the day.Lighting
Natural light was quite dull, it was a gray morning, but just around that time I had finally received my first speedlite, so this was kind of a test with it. Speedlite in a 80cm softbox.Equipment
I used my Canon 70D with 50mm on a tripod. One speedlite in softbox on a stand, with some heavy bags on it cuz it was blowing as crazy. First couple of shots sofbox was rolling around all over the place.Inspiration
I always envied people who were making this kind of beautiful levitation images. I was planing for a while how my levitation image would look, feel, story would tell. So around holidays I finally decided to give it a try to this totally unfamiliar form of art.Editing
Yes, PP in this case was the main thing, this is a composite with some heavy editing, I wanted to look like the shoot was taken at night, in a dreamy state, some snow was added as well.In my camera bag
Got my Canon 70D, canon 50mm 1.8, pentacon 1.8 and jupiter 135mm 3.5(with adapters). Speedlite, trigger, intrevalomiter and some nd and cpl filters.Feedback
In this case I think it is important to have finished idea in your head, try to put it down on paper so you don't miss anything. i made that mistake couple days ago, I planed big shoot, and when we got to location i had forgotten to pack my TRIPOD of all things.. so yes, shoots like this a list before leaving for the shoot is IMPORTANT. Creativity and ideas usually comes from books, tales, songs and other forms of art, to me personally anyway, so experimenting is a big one as well. To try things, mix things together and don't be afraid of climbing out of your comfort zone =)
