Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken on the banks of the Masa River, in the Maasai Mara National Park, Kenya.

Time

We had left the camp around 6:30AM in the morning on the second day of our four day stay in the Mara in November of 2015. Around 11AM our guide began to get very excited about some chatter on radio and we made a mad dash to edge of the river where thousands of Zebra had arrived and were waiting to cross.

Lighting

We really didn't have a choice about the light...

Equipment

I was using a Nikon d750 with a tamron 300-600mm lens.

Inspiration

At the point this photo was taken we were surrounded by Zebra. Playing, waiting, making all sorts of racket.

Editing

I did very little post in Lightroom.

In my camera bag

On this trip I had a full three day pack with my d750, a 14mm prime, extra batteries, tripod, extra SD cards, clothes, bug spray, water, and more bug spray.

Feedback

Don't be afraid to keep shooting. SD cards are cheap, and the crap is easy to delete.
