I took this shot from the lookout at cape tourville light house in Tasmania on a two week solo holiday where I just wanted to drive and take photos.Time
I specifically remember waiting for the sun to set and listening to escape the pina colada song and dancing like no body was watching. It was about 7pm..Lighting
I just loved how the light was kissing the sides of the rocks and the surface of the water. It just felt like the most peaceful place I'd ever stumbled upon.Equipment
I shot this on my canon 5d mark 3, 70-200 2.8 telephoto. I actually didn't have my tripod so had to wedge my camera between two huge boulders just to get it to stand still due to the long exposure!Inspiration
The colours of the sky made me get in my rental car and get to the closest look out as quickly as I could. In those 2 weeks in Tasmania I chased the sun everywhere I could. This is probably my favourite shot from that trip.Editing
I did a bit of post work but not to much, I enhanced the colours a little and bought up a couple of the shadows but it's pretty close to what came out of the camera. In my camera bag
I usually carry around... A Fujifilm XT-1 with a 35mm prime 1.4 with a 27mm I also have my canon 5d mark III with my majestic 85mm, 24-105mm, 70-200mm, sigma 50mm.Feedback
If you want to take amazing landscape photography. Get your butt to Tasmania, it's right in my own backyard but is one of the most beautiful places I've ever photographed. Take your time there's no rush it's all about patience it could take 20 sunsets or rises until you're happy with what you actually captured. Finally just get out there and do it.
