Was traveling late one afternoon in the Kruger nation park. n Small dirt road leading back to the Malelane Gate. We saw n herd of elephant in the road and had to stop. While watching them pass I looked to my right and saw this stunning sight. Just picked up my camera and shoot.Time
Later afternoon almost time for the Gates to close.Lighting
It was just magic. The Light , sun shadows and to top it of n bird in actionEquipment
Had my old Nikon D3100 with n sigma 80-400. hand heldInspiration
It was just the beauty of it. I always like to son coming up or going down. That famous golden hour. my other love is birds in action. and there is was sitting with this amazing sunset and to top it of. the bird in flight. something I have never seen before and maybe never will be again. had to jump to the opportunityEditing
I don't really like post processing. Al I do is a bit of sharpening , maybe bit colour and contras and lightning. And cropping here and there. And this is all I did with this photos. Just n few small fine tunings. In my camera bag
Now I have a Nikon D7000 and a D7100 a sigma 150-500 on the D7100 and a 55-200 on the D7000. most of the time in the Kurger park. So this is what I normally use. Off-road rally I use a 55 -200 and an 18-55.Flash also in the bag if needed.Feedback
Practice and practice. The more you practice the luckier you get (old saying from a golfing legend named Garry player ). Don't be scared to try new things. Learn your equipment and experiment , and never give up. Try you hand at every thing. Some thing you learn in other aspects and disciplines might help you to get that perfect photo
