I've always wanted to go shoot Diamond Lake with Mt. Thielsen in the background, but never found the time or reason to go. So when Southern Oregon received some early season snow early this November, I felt like it was the right time to go. I woke up at 4am, drove all morning in 14 degrees, and found a pretty decent composition right off the bat.

This image was taken just before the sun broke over the horizon. The fog in front of the mountain kept moving in and out and just happened to reach it's largest size to block the mountain and the sun right as it climbed over the mountain. This was intended to be more of test shot, but ended up loving the colors and composition more than anything I shot that chilly morning.

This image was taken on a Canon 5D mk3 with a Canon 16-35mm.
