Location
This photo was taken at the Juno Beach Pier in Juno Beach, Florida.Time
After waking up at about 5 AM I drove about 20min. to the pier. I got there at about 6 for the sunrise that was happening around 6:30 or so. This shot was taken probably about 10 minutes before the sun came up.Lighting
The reason I went for a long exposure shot was because, as seen in the picture, it was quite cloudy and therefore there was not much color. There was basically a nice even morning glow over everything.Equipment
I shot this picture on a Canon 70D with a Canon 18-55mm. I shot this using a tripod and used the multiple exposure mode at 9 total shots with each being 30sec. long. I was also using a remote shutter release.Inspiration
I always try to make the best shot possible out of whatever situation occurs when I go out shooting. Since this morning did not have that much color or look "pretty" necessarily, I decided to try my hand a little bit with long exposure.Editing
Mainly the only post-processing I do is brighten up shadows, bring down the highlights, add a little bit of whites for pop in the photo, and add a little bit of vibrance. In my camera bag
In my camera bag I always carry my Canon 70D, Canon 10-18mm, Canon 18-55mm STM, Canon 50mm 1.8 II STM, Canon 55-250mm, and a Tamron 150-600mm.Feedback
Obviously for a long exposure a tripod helps tremendously, although its possible without. Also using a remote shutter release helps so you can maybe sit down or relax a little bit while the camera is doing its work. One more thing that you need and something I tend to struggle with sometimes is PATIENCE. It helps alot to have patience.
