I had always wanted to serve our country in the military, so when I got the opportunity, I volunteered. I became a 1st LT in the Army Nurse Corps Reserves. My unit was the 801st General Hospital which later became the 801st Combat Support Hospital. I advanced to the rank of Major through my 12 years of service.
