This was taken on the Southbank side of London Bridge, literally at the bus stop. I was waiting for the bus home.Time
It was around 10pm. I took my cousin, who was visiting London, for a photo walk along the Southbank. We'd been out since about 4pm walking along the embankment between Tower Bridge and London Bridge, stopping to visit The London Shard for the sunset.Lighting
What inspired me were the street lights along the bridge. As buses travelled over the bridge at a glance it looked like they were 'connecting the dots of the lights.Equipment
I used a Samsung NX1100 with the kit 20-50mm. K&F 4 section travel tripodInspiration
Even though we were on our way home, I don't actually pack my camera away till I get home. We had a 20-minute wait for our bus, and I thought we must have just missed our bus.Editing
Very little was done other than a little exposure correcting. In my camera bag
Back then, probably everything and the kitchen sink. Now, however, I usually will have a fuji X-Pro2 along with a 35mm f2 and a 16mm f2.8 which is what I like to call my EDC it all fits in a tiny Manfrotto bag (NX camera shoulder bag I Blue for CSC). If I'm on my own I may carry my K&F 4 section travel tripod. I may also have an ND filter, just in case.Feedback
I think having a lens wide enough and a tripod. I guess a remote trigger would have made it easier, but I just timed it and used the self-timer. Oh, yes, and be patient. I didn't get it right the first time, or 5th time to be honest.
