Behind The Lens

Location

I took it in the kitchen at home. My cat was in a playful mood, so I just put the camera down on the floor and waited until the appropriate moment, when she looked most like herself.

Time

I honestly cannot remember. Sometime during daylight.

Lighting

I did nothing about the lighting, it is just natural light coming in through the windows.

Equipment

It was my small Canon EOS M. I have since given it away as I shoot exclusively with Sony, but it is a good camera. I used no other equipment.

Inspiration

As any cat owner I use my cats as models a lot. They are supple, elegant, playful and natural posers.

Editing

No, I don't think I did.

In my camera bag

Nowadays my Sony RX 10 Mk 4 is always in my bag, and I seldom need anything else, as I prefer to shoot hand-held, shooting mainly shoot birds and creatures that move around fast.

Feedback

Well, first, get a cat... No, I think the main thing is to love your subject, love taking pictures and seeing every new photo as a gift to be unwrapped. It can disappoint you, surprise you, make your day, make you work harder, teach you something or give joy to others (which is a good thing) or bore them to tears (which means you have to share your photos with discernment...)
