Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo in one of the smallest and oldest city in the world -- Vigan, Ilocos Sur, Philippines. It is a heritage site and included in UNESCO as well as 7 Modern Wonders.

Time

It was afternoon. Around 2 or 3 pm.

Lighting

The aperture in the cam was placed high. Plus the potter's point is facing the back door that was opened towards the garden.

Equipment

Nikon D300. No flash. I love natural lighting. 18mm lens. I took that photo 2 meters away from the potter.

Inspiration

I want to capture how our eyes see it. The potter made a heart shape clay water jag after that mold. It was for me and my ex. I was inspired when it came to me like there was a quick preview. So, I wanted to show others that -- love is like an earth ware, you got to be patient in molding and shaping and it has to undergo high pressure but it always comes out beautiful and last long.

Editing

I only added contrast 50% to have that perfect focal point.

In my camera bag

Camera, battery, charger, and smartphones. Because smartphones assist me on how should I place the camera. It's like it is my preview gadget.

Feedback

Follow your heart and instinct. What you see is not what you just get. You have to pay attention to details. Time is luck in capturing natural beauty. You have to be efficient. You will never know when 60 seconds lapse you missed one perfect shot with that magical view.
