Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in my daughters back yard, she has two German Shepherd dogs and this was the youngest, Alfie.

Time

The image was shot early morning and the light wasn't fantastic.

Lighting

As the light was very flat I had to take more time in the editing.

Equipment

It was shot on a 5D Mark 3 with a Canon 70-200mm F2.8L IS mkii at 200mm F4. Using just natural daylight.

Inspiration

It was my daughter, she wanted a nice picture of her new pup, how could a dad refuse?

Editing

The image was edited in LR and then Photoshop. As my daughters yard was a little plain, I altered the colours for a more Autumnal feel as well as adding some leaf overlays.

In my camera bag

I tend to carry around my 7D mkii and 5D mk3, a general walk around lens 24-70mm and my go to wildlife lens the Sigma Sports 150-600mm. I also use a carbon fibre tripod and gimbal head.

Feedback

I would always say never restrict yourself, always try new things, use your imagination, with cameras today and the tech available the sky is the limit. But more importantly have fun.
