Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken on a trip to Florence, Tuscany, while on holiday in Italy

Time

This was an early evening shot, as the aim was to capture the bridge with the setting sun light striking it

Lighting

This was all natural setting sun lighting, it was all about capturing it at the right time of early evening

Equipment

This was taken with the Pentax K-01 with the Pentax SMC 35mm f2.4 lens

Inspiration

A love of the history and scenic scenes you have within Italy

Editing

No real post processing involved beyond some tweaking of the levels, If I can get it as best as possible in camera it can make the post work a lot easier

In my camera bag

At the time of this image I combined the use of the K-01 MILC which had the higher quality sensor in it with my K-7 SLR for its flexibility although today this has changed into being mainly with my new Pentax K-3 which combines the high quality sensor with the SLR's abilities. When it comes to lenses it really depends on what I am doing. I have had the Tamron 18-250mm in my bag ever since I had the K100D but it has slowly lost favour to a combo of 35mm and 50mm Pentax primes as well as the Tamron 70-200 f2.8

Feedback

I'd say don't rush the shot, take the time to see what you are after, use the manual settings of the camera so that your shutter and aperture are spot on and don't forget, enjoy the scenery around you, never forget why you are there! :)
