Behind The Lens

Location

In my living room.

Time

I did not use natural light so the time of day isn't significant.

Lighting

I used two Alien Bee 800 strobes indoors on their lowest power setting. I shot wide open to get a little bit of bokeh. I did not want the flowers super sharp.

Equipment

I shot this with a Canon 5D MKII.

Inspiration

This was the 2nd time I shot this particular model. She sent me her pin up outfit choices and I decided a wall of flowers would look awesome with her choices. Of course I couldn't buy a manufactured backdrop that would make me happy. This backdrop took a lot of silk flowers and super glue.

Editing

This image needed very little post processing. I sharpened some of the details, softened the skin and slightly muted the colors.

In my camera bag

A Canon 5D MKII and a Canon 600RT-EX Speedlite.
