Krista decided to make some new friends for Halloween. Shot in my studio, this is a part of my recent trend away from "straight photography," by which I mean I'm taking a starting photograph, and trying to make it look like something else. As much as I can, I do the work without plugins, although I do often use a plugin for part of the project. For this one, I had the lights just a little hot on the hand, and back of the skull, so I had to do some hand-painting (no pun intended!) using one of my nifty "pencil" brushes. I've learned that drawing a stroke, and then using the "Fade [whatever]..." tool under the Edit menu really gives a great deal of control.
